The U13 team delivered a very encouraging performance, with the defence putting in a particularly outstanding display. From the first quarter, the defensive players were relentless in their pressure, winning back possession again and again with strong marking, well-timed interceptions, and excellent anticipation. Their efforts created numerous turnover opportunities for the team.
These defensive gains allowed the attacking players to bring the ball smoothly down the court. The mid-court worked hard to provide clear options and link play together, helping the team transition effectively from defence into attack. It was great to see the players using the space well and making increasingly confident decisions with the ball.
The wind proved to be a real challenge throughout the match and made shooting particularly difficult at times. Despite this, the shooters continued to work hard in the circle and remained focused, adapting as best they could to the conditions.
The performance clearly demonstrated the team’s development. The combination of strong defensive work, improving attacking play, and better decision-making across the court showed just how much progress the team is making.
