The U16 Snow Leopards took to court in unusually dark and bitterly cold conditions, but they opened the match with real intent. From the first whistle, the team moved the ball confidently through the court, linking well between defence, mid-court, and attack. Their early passages of play showed great control and promise.
However, as the latter half of the first quarter unfolded, the chill seemed to creep into their rhythm. A few errors began to slip in, and the once-smooth transitions became a little rushed under pressure. Even so, the Snow Leopards refused to let the conditions dictate the match. They produced a string of excellent interceptions and their shooters impressed with some calm, accurate finishes despite cold hands.
Ultimately, it was the flat drives that proved to be the team’s main downfall. With leads not quite hitting the depth or angle needed, opportunities were lost and momentum became harder to maintain.
Still, the foundations are strong. The fight, the defensive hunger, and the resilience in tough weather were clear to see. With some focused work on dynamic drives and timing at training, the Snow Leopards will be well set for their next outing.
