This was a truly deserved win for Snow Leopards, who edged out Windsor 49–44 in a closely contested match. Leopards won the first quarter 13:9, then Windsor mounted a strong comeback in the second quarter, taking it 10:12, but the girls kept their heads and narrowly took the final two quarters taking the win.

There were some lovely passages of play, with the ball moving smoothly through mid-court into our shooting circle. The shooters were generally ‘on-point’, with shooting stats up at 80%. Those missed, the girls worked hard to regain possession and convert second chances, they kept the scoreboard ticking over nicely. Our defensive end worked tirelessly, the opposition had a very efficient GA, but defensive pressure through court, enabled the girls to contain her.

It has been great to see how far Snow Leopards has come since the beginning of the season. The skills worked on in training are now visible in match play, and the girls have gelled into a lovely cohesive team that is a pleasure to watch.
As ever, there are still areas to work on. Unforced errors have reduced but remain slightly too frequent, and we need to ensure we convert more of our turnover ball. That said, this was a performance to be proud of and a strong way to finish the first half of the season.

POM went to Evie and Neala, with CPOM awarded to Evie and Megan.
Evie and Megan formed an excellent shooting partnership, with both players accurate and composed in front of goal. Evie was a steady force in and out of the circle while Megan delivered her strongest performance to date, standing up well to her opponent and taking control of the space in the shooting circle.
In defence, Neala worked tirelessly against Windsor’s GA. She delayed her effectively, worked her feet hard to gain the front position in the circle, and made it difficult for her opponent to play her game.

Overall, this was a fantastic team win. Well done to all the girls and we look forward to the second half of the season!
