FIRST WIN AT WAVELL FOR MOWGLI

After a tough season in Wavell last year Mowgli Panthers certainly started their first match this season with some fight and determination. Mowgli were playing Vipers and the opposition started off super strong, getting a few goals on the trot. Panthers kept with them and they finished the first quarter two goals down. With 9 players we were able to move things around and introduce some of the newer players into the game. At times Mowgli were rushing the ball down the court so there were lots of interceptions from both teams, however with some patient play in attack we had more opportunities to score and Emilia and Collette were banking some great goals. We went from strength to strength and the improvement in this team is great to see, defence players Daisy, Isabel and Helena meant Vipers struggled to get the ball into their attack. Our mid court players Keiko, Lois, Sylvie and Poppy really attacked in the 2nd half which saw our goals go up! It was fantastic to see how much encouragement there was for each other as well. Well done to all and Mowgli finished the game with their first win 18 - 9. Coaches player Emilia, Opposition Players went to Sylvie and Emilia. A pleasure to coach tonight!
