The U16s faced a challenging match this week, getting off to a rocky start as they struggled to break through the opposition’s strong defensive zone. Despite creating opportunities, the Panthers found it difficult to convert early possession into goals during the opening quarter.
In the second quarter, however, the girls came out firing with renewed determination. Their intensity lifted across the court, and they matched the opposition with some impressive passages of play, narrowly losing the quarter by just one goal. This was such an impressive turn around and a full team effort!
The Panthers’ pressure continued to build as the defence worked tirelessly to force turnovers. A key focus from the coaches was converting those defensive wins into attacking wins, and the team delivered—successfully taking several turnovers straight through to goal.
The girls kept pushing right through to the final whistle, showing resilience, teamwork, and determination throughout the match. They came away with the 1 point from the game—something many other teams have failed to achieve against this opposition.
Great work from the whole squad and some truly impressive netball on display.
