Started strong against Vipers, though vipers turned over our first centre, the girls put on some big defence to win it back and kept that up throughout the whole game. The timing of the movement and drives, especially in the centre third, were a clear improvement from the first match, and the flow of bringing it down the court and transitioning from defence to attack was so much smoother.
We had a team of 9 so each quarter had different combination and was really impressed with how they leaned into the particular strengths of each player. Unfortunately, the last quarter was when vipers pulled away, but the first three quarters were dominated largely by Panthers. There were times when it felt that we were rushing and needed to slow down and use our three seconds. I think between slowing down and just ironing out the small mistakes like footwork and ball placement, next time we can pull through with a win.
The girls took on board and implemented all of my feedback. The whole group played brilliantly and were lovely to coach as always.
