Another great end of season win!

We started with amazing intent and got an early lead that we maintained throughout. Everyone did their job excellently, the defence worked brilliantly as a unit, with a stand out quality of the match being the smooth transition from defence to attack due to perfect timing and effective drives. Arm over pressure was consistency good down the court resulting in many balls flying off the sideline and back line for the other side. Martha got great depth on second phase, combined with summer and poppy’s good ability read off of Martha allowed a quick transition from C pass to goal. Amy was outstanding (my coaches player) she utilised her height by causing all sorts of problems for the other team with her hands over. She turned a ridiculous amount of ball over with both great aerial balls and little feet to take ball from the front of her player. Ava was also excellent and turned several balls over with her ability to track back and get up for the intercept. Lana’s 1 on 1 tracking defence was another standout performance. Martha’s vision when feeding the circle was amazing. Chloe and Martha’s shooting was incredible (i wish we had stats they would be so high.) I was very proud of how successful we were on defensive backlines as this was our focus at training, they took all my advice and out into their play. Only team work ons were keeping the ball high and high release point. Giving stronger balls as we lost some not because it was the wrong choice of pass but that the quality of the pass wasn’t good enough. We needed a ball side offer from defence on our centre pass, although we were still mainly successful on that, it would be more effective if the drives were ball side. We also spoke about the importance of taking a breathe and settling after a turnover as we can a large amount of ball away straight after we have intercepted it. Overall an amazing team performance
