Wow what a start to the season!

Whilst it wasn't the win we hoped for, it was nail bitingly close! The girls gave everything in this first game!

We had a shaky start that saw us go down by four goals, but we had a chat, let the nerves settle and went out with grit and determination to see us take a 6 goal lead into the second half!

From that point onwards it could have been anyone's game with the lead consistently changing.

A few silly mistakes creeping in during Q3 and 4 saw us lose a few opportunities and whilst the whole team gave everything and pushed on until the final whistle, sadly on this occasion it wasn't to be!

Despite the result I am really proud of the girls, everyone gave everything whilst on court and were supportive of their friends throughout cheering and encouraging from the sides- something I will always be proud of.

I think the step from 10 minute quarters to 15 min quarters was a shock to the system and I'm hoping now they all know why we have been pushing them to push their fitness!

So much to like on court today, some really classy sections of play, defence were on fire ensuring we stayed in the game throughout- Hannah proving to be absolutely lethal with long arms and a ball skill/finger tip control to be proud of! The speed and positioning in the midcourt was looking slick at times- we did see a few moments of bunching, but overall the girls fought hard and took on the advice about having a forward option.

The shooting circle was also flawless with many goals swooshing that net from the outer circle!

Well done girls- keep up the work and the wins will come!
